On June 6th, Sofía Scherschener and Santiago Spinelli, authorities from Dickens, and Lucila Márquez and Juliet Wilson, from Cambridge University, visited us. 

The purpose of the meeting was to get to know Instituto Crandon, one of the institutions that every year prepares numerous students for their international exams. Many of those students have obtained excellent marks and have been part of the list Top in Uruguay.

Profa. Cecilia Baridon Gonnet, Secondary English Coordinator, was the host. The group took a tour around the facilities, they visited the two libraries (Educación Inicial and Primary, and Secondary) and greeted a group of 3rd year of Bachillerato who are currently preparing for the CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English). Juliet had a short chat with them. The students were happy to meet a person who represents the University that provides the test.

The guests admired Crandon’s facilities and the fusion between traditional buildings and modern furnishings, the presence of art, the strong messages about values and coexistence that are shown in corridors and classrooms, and the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. 

The visit ended with a photo at the front of the Main Building, and the laudatory comments about the vine that gives the Institution its identity.
