On June 1st and 7th, the English teachers staff of Early Childhood and Primary participated in a two-day seminar at Crandon Institute named An Overview on Synthetic Phonics.

It was led by the former school coordinators, Mrs. Laura Bouzas De Concilis and Mrs. Gabriela Remedi Corbo. It included principles, concepts and basic terminology through practical activities. The alphabetic code and its correspondences and combination of blending and segmenting for the learning process of reading and writing was also covered. 

The seminar focused on the different stages in the implementation of a Phonics class through the exploitation of various materials and resources from the perspective of Synthetic Phonics.

The whole activity held moments  to interact with the presenters by asking questions and reflecting together. 

The participants considered it as a very rewarding and enriching experience.
