Eighty five students of 6th grade of Educación Básica Integrada (EBI, Primaria) took the GESE (Graduated Examination in Spoken English) exams of Trinity College London. The tests took place on November 15th via videoconferencing with examiners based in London who evaluated the language speaking and listening skills of the students.

The results arrived a week later and revealed excellent outcomes showing the high performance of the students due to the hard work made by the bilingual programme at Crandon and the English staff.

GESE exams were designed to evaluate the development of communicative English language speaking skills for use in real life. Grouped by development stage, these exams offer a progressive framework for the development of English language skills and an assessment for every learner according to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR) *.

Trinity College London ESOL is an international English language exam board that offers assessments on English language learning and teaching and has been offering English language exams since 1938. The Trinity College London exams are conducted by more than 850,000 candidates in more than 60 countries each year, and GESE, which is a very important examination, is a UK government-approved test for settlement and visa application purposes when taken at a Trinity SELT Centre.

* GESE grades according to CEFR:

Grades 4 to 6 (Elementary stage): A2.2 – B1.2
Grades 7 to 9 (Intermediate stage): B2.1 – B2.3
