Fourteen Secondary Students Are Part of an English Immersion in Vancouver, Canada

On 27 January, a Crandon delegation began the first international experience of 2023. Fourteen Secondary students and two teachers flew to Canada as members of an academic and cultural experience that includes courses at Eurocentres High School, homestays and sightseeing trips.

The teachers Lorena Verdier Cabrera and Diego Guarnieri Parguiña, and a group of fourteen teenagers from Bachillerato Diversificado left Montevideo on Friday 27th towards Vancouver, (Canada). In this city, the students are staying with host families and attending English classes at Eurocentres, an institution that was found «70 years ago as a meeting point for people from all over the world [and] has made significant contributions to the field of language teaching and remains an internationally-recognised organization, dedicated to maintaining global dialogues across cultures».

For two weeks, the teenagers will have classes in English in the mornings (with a strong emphasis on intercultural aspects, one of the hallmarks of Eurocentres), and sightseeing in the afternoons. At the end of the course they will receive a certificate with the accomplished level according to the Common European Framework.

Eurocentres, the chosen institution, has several and important accreditations, such as: the English UK, and Languages Canada, among others.

Various delegations of Crandon have traveled to Vancouver to be part of this English and cultural experience since 2014.
