Treasure Island is an adventure novel written by Robert Louis Stevenson. Its iconic characters and thrilling adventures have been immortalized in numerous famous films, making it a timeless classic for young readers and learners.

In 2025, The Company Educational Drama presents this vibrant stage play, specially adapted for very young learners. The Activity Packs and Teacher’s Notes—designed to prepare students for the performance—were crafted by José Luis Morales, an experienced Uruguayan actor, EFL teacher, and writer, with quality visuals by Sebastián Santana, a renowned Argentinian illustrator based in Uruguay.

The activities encourage students to listen, speak, sing, read, and write in English, fostering their interest in the story’s themes, characters, and values while preparing them to fully enjoy and engage with the play.

Through this production, children explored the world of secret maps and hidden islands. The play’s authentic dialogues introduced them to pirate jargon, while its fast-paced narrative delivered an exciting blend of action and mystery that captivated the audience—evident in their laughter and  applause.

Treasure Island also highlights universal values: teamwork, the power of wit over brute strength, and a strong critique of greed. The clear, linear plot (journey, conflict, resolution) makes the story easy to follow and enjoy, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
